In what was one of the deepest structured events in DeepStacks Poker Tour history, Montreal’s very own Eric Afriat took down the inaugural DSPT-PPC South Florida $1500 buy-in, $100,000 Guarantee event at the Isle Casino of Pompano Park. The event was hosted by Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi (7th) and featured other world class pros like Tommy Vedes (5th), Stu Paterson (15th), Michael Beasley (18th) and DeepStacks Pro Tristan Wade (22nd). However, it was Afriat, who has a WPT final table (2010 Bellagio Cup) under his belt as well as over $350,000 in lifetime earnings who outlasted the competition for over $32,000. It was also a family affair at the final table with The Grinder’s younger brother, Donny Mizrachi, finishing 4th for over $9000.
John Depresio of Parkland (FL) finished 2nd for $26,590 and received the $3000 package to the DSPT World Championship at Mohegan Sun in November.
