UNCASVILLE, Connecticut– To say that the gaming industry isn’t competitive would be like saying LeBron James doesn’t want to be the best basketball player that ever lived. Both would be incorrect and in the woods of Connecticut, where the two largest casinos in North America exist, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, the competition is downright fierce. However, as much as both casinos have made their undeniable footprint in the poker world, it is Mohegan Sun that has separated itself from it’s next door neighbor. Now as you read this article, please know that I am a bit biased, since Mohegan Sun was recently named the official National Casino Partner of the DeepStacks Poker Tour.
However, I have also been inside most of the poker rooms in North America, so I have seen alot and each, undoubtedly, have their own unique qualities, the things that separate them from the next guy. Mohegan Sun’s poker room obviously falls in that category, but you might be surprised when I say that Mohegan Sun isn’t the best in North America and it isn’t the prettiest. Those distinctions, in my opinion, belong to The Venetian and Aria, respectively. Both beasts in their own right, but I’m not writing about the best in poker, I’m writing about the most complete in poker; a 5 tool player that every team wants on their roster. That’s what Mohegan Sun Poker is…a room that has 5 tools…excellent customer service, quality live action games, a very professional staff, great tournaments and cleanliness.
Again, I might be a bit skewed to think so positively of Mohegan Sun Poker, but you know, that’s okay, it’s all good. It’s my opinion and after months of interacting with the staff and players here, I can back it up. If you don’t believe me, come check it out for yourself, but come during the DeepStacks Poker Tour Mohegan Sun National Championship in November, after all, they are our National Casino Partner.
*Writer’s note: I don’t write professionally, so if you found errors in this article, i just appreciate you taking the time to read it. Oh, by the way, i wrote this while listening to Drake, The Weeknd and Jay-Z, so yeah, they contributed to the quality of this article too.
